OFC 2014

This year the Optical Fiber Communication conference and exposition (OFC) was held in San Francisco. I partecipated with a poster presentation on "Negative Curvature Fibers with reduced leakage loss" (see at the end). This huge size conference is always the ideal place to meet a large part of the optical fibre research community.
I really enjoyed some key tutorials and presentations on mid-
Infrared photonics, plastic optical fibers and others. The focus of the conference is about high capacity transmission and a relevant part was dedicated to SDM and MDM. There has been also a session on hollow core fibres with several presentations from the ORC.
My poster was a discrete success: many people were interested in it and discussed the novel idea and the fabrication approach
