Malaysia Tour

I have spent a very interesting week in Malaysia. I have given an invited talk at the International Photonics Conference (ICP), held in Melaka, and then I have also given 2 seminar presentations in Kuala Lumpur (University of Malaya) and in Cyberjaya (Multimedia University). I have had the opportunity to meet old collegues from the ORC (in the picture) as well as meeting new potential collaborateurs. I found the conference was very well organized and I quite enjoyed the switch among different subjects,...as well as the evening reception and Melaka tour!
My invited presentation at the conference was reviewing the use of
hollow core optical fibers for accessing novel optical wavelengths and handling high optical power. The presentation in Kuala Lumpur focused on how curves can affect the performances of hollow core optical fibres.
But the most inspiring presentation was the one given in Cyberjaya for the meeting held from the IEEE photonics society of Malaysia: "I have a dream ! ".
